1955 - 2023

It is with great sadness and grief that I announce the passing of Linda Elin Abram (nee Swanson).

Linda came into this world on August 31, 1955, as the first child of Glenn August Swanson (2015) and Agnes Muriel Anderson (1967); born in Fort William (ON).

Linda passed too soon from this life on November 24, 2023.

One of Linda’s final requests was that people remember her by doing something they enjoy with friends and/or family; and if it involves a meal, the happy food dance.

Within the Swanson family she is survived by her two brothers (Scott & Kevin) and her two sisters (Wendy and Anne-Marie) and her stepmother Mary. Linda has five nieces and one nephew (Jessica, Alysha, Nicola, Megan, Jillian, and Evan).

Throughout her childhood and early adult life Linda lived in many places across Canada; Schreiber (ON), Toronto (ON), Brandon (MB), Regina (SK), Sault St. Marie (ON).

Later in life Linda lived in London (ON), which is where we met and started our relationship in 1993; from there we lived in Victoria (BC), Lethbridge (AB), Moyie (BC), Cranbrook (BC) and Weyburn (SK).

Linda’s greatest residence is in the heart of those she met and whose lives touched hers.

Linda was always loving, gracious and stoic in life, right to the end.

To my “Sweetie”

I will always cherish the time we had together (the good and the difficult) as you have made me a better person through them all and I thank you for teaching me that love is an ability. I will remember you forever and think of you always. You were and will forever be my everything.

Linda was a kind and good natured person, I will always remember her smiling and friendly face. It was always a pleasure to talk with her. The world has lost a wonderful lady, we will miss her. Linda felt like a big sister to me. I always admired her grace, kindness, and intelligence. We had some great laughs together. So blessed Linda was in my life.

Sean, I was stunned to hear about Linda’s passing. My condolences especially to you and to her family. I first got to know Linda in Sault Ste Marie and was privileged to work for/with Linda in the hotel industry. (81-83) Our paths didn’t cross again until 1991 where we became neighbors, by accident. It was so nice to reconnect with her, where our “knowing each other” developed into a real friendship, not a working one. I can still remember the day that I took my landline phone out the door of my apartment, dragging the cord across the hall and parking myself in her apartment. She was reupholstering a chair and having a little trouble. Together, we managed to correct the “problem” and she always gave me credit for her upholstered chair and how good it turned out. She later was my maid of honor and our friendship continued to grow. I was then privileged to meet you in London, ON. It was so nice to see her so in love!! Her time was now spent with you, so as it should be! She sure had a way to make anyone in her life feel special. I will surely miss her. I only wished I had pushed harder to stay in touch with her but life does have a way of “getting in the way”. Love always. Shirley

Hey Sean I was compelled to reach out, as I accidentally came across Linda's obit. Her obituary brought up old memories and here is the reason why. My dad worked for the CP-Rail, one of his places of employment was Brandon. My mom and dad became very good friends with Agnes and Glenn. As a kid I can remember the Swanson clan coming to our house for BBQ's and the Conn clan that's us (Betty and Venard Conn, my sisters Judy and Phyllis) going to the Swanson household for visits and BBQ's. Linda's folks were considered very close friends to my mom and Dad who are both gone now. My dad in 1974 and my mom in 2017. Ironically both my parents were born in Weyburn. I remember when living in Brandon, the Swanson kids and the Conn kids would play while the parents would visit with lots of laughter. Looking at Linda's pic and reading all the kind things that were said about her, it moved me to reach out to you, it also was moving when I read how Linda grew up and turned out to be a beautiful person God Bless and I have you and her siblings in my prayers - Amen Blessings Doug Conn
