Atsuko Aasland

AASLAND, Atsuko
December 1944 – April 2017

Atsuko Hirano was born at her mother Kasu’s home in Tokyo. Following Japanese tradition, her mother returned to her family for the birth of her first child. She grew up on the family farm near Otaki, Chiba. While working in Tokyo, she met and married Jostein Aasland.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lisa (Mike) Guest; her son, Sol Aasland; her brothers, Tatsuya Imai (Keiko) and Makoto Hirano; her mother, Kasu Hirano; her grandsons, Aiden Aasland-Guest and Evan Aasland-Guest; as well as her niece, Yoko Imai and nephew, Satoshi Imai. Her father, Tadashi Hirano, predeceases her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Atsuko’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
