Jacob Romeyn

November 17th, 2018

Jacob Romeyn entered into eternal rest with his Heavenly Father on November 17th, 2018 at the age of 83. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Nellie, his four children Al (Laura) Romeyn, Joanne (Dwayne) Mitchell, John (Jackie) Romeyn and Jim (Ania) Romeyn. Jake is also survived by his 16 grandchildren, Rachelle and Nathan Wieler, Christine and Graeme Wells, Leanna and Tyrel Henwood, Melissa Romeyn and Kyle Middleton, Shannon and Rueben Vegt, Stacey Romeyn. Rebecca Mitchell, Calvin and Tina Romeyn, Max Romeyn, Nathan Romeyn, Tiffany and Tyler Legare, Sam Romeyn, Monica Romeyn, Dominique Romeyn, Miya Hebert and Lily Hebert and 13 great grandchildren Kelly-Anne Gardner, Leah Nicol. Patience Legare, Colton Vegt, Landon Wells, Alma Vegt, Cypress Legare, Brooke Wells, Dynasty Henwood, Torian Legare, Wesley Romeyn, Cole Romeyn and Armany Henwood. His family was everything to him and his eyes lit up on every visit from his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His love for God and the scriptures was unbelievable. You will see him read the word and see his eyes light up and a smile on his face when something struck him as amazing, which was often. Dad was born in Holland and immigrated to Canada in 1952 and met Mom shortly after that. Dad worked many different jobs before starting with BC Tel in his late teens. He retired from there at the age of 52 and eventually took on a whole new career as a teacher. Dad taught MANY of his grandchildren in the computer lab he set up at The Kings School. Our Dad never ceased to amaze everyone with his incredible knowledge of just about everything. He will be missed by so many of us and yet we have that sure and certain hope of the resurrection. Until we meet again Dad. We love you.
