Willem "Willy" Pors

June 21st, 2018

It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Willem "Willy" Pors.  On June 21st with family at his side, Willy lost his bout with cancer and died peacefully in Abbotsford, BC.  He is survived by mother Evelyn, his two children Lianne (Brian) and David and his three brothers John (Patti), Adrian (Debbie) and Tim (Lynn), two grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.  While Willy was born in Chilliwack, Edmonton was his home; here he enjoyed a wonderful childhood and later raised his own family.

Throughout his journey in life, he touched many peoples’ lives along the way, and was known to always be spreading warmth, jokes, and happiness.  Willy was a genuine people person who liked to make new friends, exemplified over his career where he spent over twenty-five years as a dedicated postal worker, ran his own roofing business, drove taxi cab part time and later enjoyed a part time job as school bus driver.

Willy was a man with a huge heart who will be sorely missed.  He showed tremendous strength, compassion, caring, and generosity towards others and his bright smile will be fondly remembered by all those that knew him.

A celebration of Willy’s life will be held on Saturday, July 7th from 2 – 8PM at the Norwood Legion. 11150 82 Street NW. Edmonton Alberta.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
