Lucas Alan Podgorenko

Lucas passed away suddenly on June 23, 2018 at the age of 15. He leaves behind his mother, Sandra Podgorenko, his father, Alan Podgorenko and his nephew, Ethan Boone, and his aunts and uncles. Lucas is predeceased by his sister, Lani Boone and his grandparents. Thanks to Kathleen Ouellette and Yvette, Dan Thiessen and the staff of Fraserview Learning Centre, Debbie Kooy and Dr. Bala Joseph.
Come and go memorial will be held on August 18, 2018, 1:00pm – 4:00pm at the Mission Harbour - Fraser River Interpretation Centre at 33428 Harbour Ave., Mission, BC. Soft spoken, a gentle spirit and a loving soul. Always had one of the younger children hanging off of him or the pets rubbing up on him. He would always lend me a hand, carry groceries, grab a door, take Roxy for a walk. He was a part of our family, my first daycare baby at just under a year. He spent a lot of time with us, camping, going to family dinners and BBQ's, he was raised as a cousin to my children and my son's childhood dearest friend. The loss is too large to try and find sense ... we have taken the time this week to tell some stories and remember the funny, quirky guy Lucas was. He had some epic sayings, reminders are everywhere of things he loved to do and we will always keep him in our hearts as a member of our family gone too young. Rest in peace sweet boy. Nikki xo

I met Lucas as a baby at Nikki's. He was such a sweet quiet child. I have watched him play and grow up with all my grandkids. Still felt like one of the grandkids, standing there letting me hug him as teenagers do. He was such a cutie. I am so sad and I am sorry for your loss. As I try to soothe myself with my fond memories of Lucas, I am hoping you find comfort in your memories of your sweet boy.
