William Walter Coutts

April 23rd, 2016

With his wife, daughters and son-in-laws by his side, Bill Coutts peacefully passed away at the young age of 63, with the same strength and dignity as he lived.

Born in 1952, Bill spent his early life in New Westminster. His youth was spent outdoors, fishing and camping with his 4 brothers and father. In 1971, he met the love of his life, Laurette; they married in 1976 and went on to have 4 beautiful daughters in Cloverdale, BC. He was a proud family man and spent his years sharing his outdoorsy passions with them.

Bill lived his life to the fullest: from a young boy until retirement. Whether it was fishing, golfing or camping; tinkering in his shed, fixing his boat, or doing any outdoor activity, he found contentment in all he did. Those who knew Bill’s witty sense of humor and up-for-anything-attitude knew he was always the life of the party - and loved him for it. A plumber by trade, Bill worked hard all his life. The majority of his working years were spent at the City of Surrey, as an honest and loyal plumbing inspector. Although he was proud of his work, it was no secret that he truly enjoyed the freedom of retirement.  His last few years were spent fulfilling his lifelong dream of traveling in his motor home; first, across Canada, then to the sunny south with his wife Laurette and loyal pup, Casey. Bill’s adventurous nature never dulled and spending his retirement years seeing new sites brought him true happiness.

Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Laurette, their 4 daughters, Aimee, Jo-Anne (Stephen), Jessica (Jason), and Nicole (Niko); his grandchildren, whom he enjoyed so much, Brann, Madelyn, and Mila; his brothers, Gerald (Monika), and Fraser. He is predeceased by his father Fraser and mother Mavis, and brothers Norman and Melvin. This is not to mention the numerous close brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews and countless friends he made along the way.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, April 30 at 11 a.m. at Shannon Hall, 6050A-176th Street, Surrey.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
