Martin Olovus Orwold

July 4th, 2011

Martin Olovus Orwold passed quietly in his sleep on July 4, 2011 at his home in Mission, BC. Martin was born September 9, 1928 in Edam Saskatchewan. He lived 82 years - a full and meaningful life. Martin was the youngest of 13 brothers and sisters. He is survived by daughter Susan McKenzie and Cindy Austin, Doris Gazzola (niece), Karl Nordh, Joan (Reinhart) Shantz, Perry Nordh & Holly (Nordh) Hansen, along with many more cousins.

He was a long time resident of Chilliwack BC, where as an entrepreneur he owned & operated a very successful painting company. Upon retiring, he moved to Abbotsford BC and then to Mission BC. Martin was very active within the Fraser Valley community, always lending a hand or an ear, to those in need of spiritual guidance, from the evils of the many forms of alcoholism or for those suffering with addiction problems.

Dad was predeceased by his youngest daughter Mary Orwold.

Although this is a time of great sorrow, as your daughter - I will try not to cry due to the sadness of your exit from this earth.  But instead, I will celebrate your life and all the good values you have taught me along the way.

You will be forever remembered in my heart and soul.

Love Always

Susan McKenzie

Messages:

There are no greater words to express my thoughts, than "Thank You" for being the best "father" possible. It was a privilege to be your daughter. You will for always and forever be in my heart and in my thoughts. May you now be at peace and eternal rest. " It will be lonely here without you, we will miss you more each day. For life will not be the same for us, since you've been called away. We will always remember the way you looked, the way you walked and smiled. All the things you did for us, will be with us all the while. You always did your best, your heart was true and tender. You lived your life for those you loved, and those you loved will remember." Love always, your daughter Cindy

Martin will always be close to me and many others in his memory and in the positive effect he had on me in my life. God Bless you until we meet again
