June Marionne Pasloski

May 20th, 2022

With great sadness, our beloved mother June, late of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully at the age of 80 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, Saskatchewan with her family by her side.

June Marionne Pasloski was born on June 10, 1941 in Fort St. John, British Columbia, to Alfred Victor and Erna-Marie (Stratford) Hiller. Mom’s Dad passed away when she was 6 years old, her mother raised her and her sister Norma in Fort St. John and Vancouver, British Columbia.

June met her future husband Henry at a dance in Vancouver and they were married on August 18, 1967 in Rama, Saskatchewan. Our parents returned to British Columbia and started their family. In 1973, we moved to Saskatchewan and settled in Rama. Becoming a farmer’s wife was a momentous change for our mother as she was a city girl. Keeping busy raising children and running a household, she found time to join local committees and work for the bookmobile.

Mom loved to travel; she enjoyed trips to British Columbia in the summers to visit family and drove with Dad to Palm Springs, California to visit her sister and brother-in-law in the winters. She also took a couple Alaskan Cruises with friends. She loved road trips with her daughter Suzanne to visit local attractions and most recently went on a trip with her son Peter to Waterton, Alberta in 2021. Mom had a very creative mind and enjoyed her crafts and hobbies, which included painting, crocheting, quilting and wheat weaving. She had a soft spot in her heart for animals, especially horses and cats. Mom volunteered many years for the Royal Red Arabian Horse show in Regina. In her last year, she was busy making quilted and knitted mats for adopted dogs and cats for the local Animal Rescue.

After their year stay in London, Ontario for medical reasons, our parents retired to Yorkton in 1994. Mom continued to live in the same home after Dad passed away in October 1999. Mom was a member of the local quilting club in Yorkton. She loved meeting her friends for coffee and going to senior dances in neighbouring towns. As a member of St. Gerard’s Roman Catholic Parish in Yorkton, Mom enjoyed make perogies with the other parish ladies.

In July 2016, Peter moved to Yorkton to become her caregiver and companion.

She is loved and remembered by her children Peter and Suzanne; grandchildren Brenden (Lacie), Cameron, Adam, Graham and Nathan; great-granddaughters Tori Lynn and Harper; sisters-in-law Sr. Marcelline Pasloski, OSB, Adeline and Nellie Pasloski; many nieces, nephews and friends; as well as her fur baby Gizzy.

June was predeceased by her parents Alfred Victor and Erna-Marie; her husband of 32 years Henry; her daughter Michelle; her sister and brother-in-law Norma and Gordon Nordin; her niece Cheryl and nephew Al.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Pals in Rama, Saskatchewan on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
