Walter Carl (Wally) Hook

November 23rd, 2022

It is with sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Walter Carl (Wally) Hook on November 23, 2022 at the age of 94.

Wally was predeceased by his parents Sophie and George Huk, his brother Sonny and his sister Olga (McMillan). He is survived by his loving wife Florence (Flo), numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Wally served in the Navy at a young age before settling down in Regina, SK with his wife Flo, where he remained his entire life. Wally worked for many years at Canada Post and was a proud member of St. Athanasius Ukrainian Catholic Church in Regina. Wally was active with the church community and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, choir member and weekly bingo caller. Perhaps his biggest hobby was being a huge Saskatchewan Roughriders fan, holding season tickets for over 50 years and cheering from his armchair for the last 20 years.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Parkside Extendicare for the compassionate care shown to Wally over the past months. The family would especially like to thank Wally’s close friends and former neighbours Paul and Elaine James for their friendship, care and assistance to Wally (and Flo) over the past 30 years.

Private family interment will be held in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist Ukrainian refugees by donating to the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, P.O. Box 4032, Regina, SK S4P 3R9 or visit the website at www.uccregina.ca

The passing of Wally was a surprise to us. Rosanne had spent much time with Wally & Flo over the years doing work at St. Athanasius Parish. As a couple they were wonderful friends, and Wally liked to joke around. We send our deepest sympathy and condolences. Terry & Rosanne Miller, Regina
