Gerald Albert Balycky (Jerry)

October 23rd, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Albert Balycky (Jerry) at the age of 74 at his home in Regina. Born in Canora, Saskatchewan, Jerry was predeceased by his father John and his mother Gepke (Kay). He will be sorely missed by his sons Jeff (Annette) and Mark, stepchildren Shauna (Craig) Leibel and Shane Paisley, their mother Barb, sister Carol Wakelam and brother Bob, as well as numerous friends and extended family.

As a trucker for most of his life, over millions of miles, Jerry saw North America from the Arctic to Mexico, from New York to L.A. and most points in between. He enjoyed his trips to Europe and especially the Netherlands to visit relatives there. Quick with a joke and a story, he often engaged in what he called “Jerry Fun” which could mean anything from a nickname to a surprisingly detailed story from one of his many adventures and misadventures. His loss will be felt by many for a long time to come.

A wake will be held for Jerry at the Exchange at 2431 8th Avenue in Regina on April 15, 2023 at 2 PM, with an official toast occurring at 2:30 PM. Please help us to celebrate Jerry’s life and send him off in the manner he wanted.
