Chester Stevenson Headrick

December 23rd, 2021

Our brother Chester Stevenson Headrick left this life and went to a more peaceful, safe place on December 23, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents Chester and Sarah Anne (Sally) Headrick and his older sister Sheila Tosczak Marschel.

He is survived by his son Cody Spisic; his older brothers Cecil Headrick (Bev) and Les Headrick (Lynda); his older sisters Lula Olexson (Garry), Hazel Hale and Val Jakubowski (Harv); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Chester “Chopper” “The Kid” was born July 16, 1962. He was the youngest sibling of seven and spent most of his childhood tagging along after his older brother and sisters. During his early twenties he enjoyed cooking and had various jobs relating to that profession. His brother-in-law and good friend Don Hale introduced him to a career in drywalling and this became his main source of employment. For a period of time, he worked in the NWT loving the Northern Lights and the solitude he found there.

Chester loved sports and was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan, always enjoying a debate on who was the better hockey team. He had a great sense of humor and a very charismatic personality. In the good times, he was very fun to be around and was responsible for much laughter. Family was important to him. He especially loved his younger nieces and nephews, wanting to fill the role of big brother and friend to them. Somewhere along life’s road, he lost his way. He tried to find the right path back many times; somehow it always eluded him.

We mourn that little brother, Chopper. We mourn the life that could have been, the life we all hoped he might have had one day. Rest in peace Chester. Mom is happy you’re finally with her. I’m sure she’s been checking with Dad and Sheila, waiting for you and asking “Have you heard from “The Kid”?”

A family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If anyone so chooses, they may make a donation to the Addictions Counselling Service of their choice.
