Elma Yvonne Hall

May 29th, 2021

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elma Yvonne Hall (nee Eastmond) on May 29, 2021 at age 91.

Elma was predeceased by her parents Walter and Ethel Eastmond, her sister Eva Rya (Stan), her mother-in-law and father-in-law Bill and Mildred Hall, her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Rita Hall and Hazel Moat (Jim), and her granddaughter Jennifer Hall. Left to cherish Elma’s memory are her loving husband Allan (of almost 65 years); her son Dwight Hall (April) and her daughter Gloria Bohay (Daryl); her grandchildren Kimberly Bohay (Mike Sveinbjornson), Curtis Bohay, Ashley Bullock (Brady) and Tyler Fletcher (Aileen); her 6 great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law John Hall (Jane); a niece and numerous nephews; as well as many dear friends.

Elma was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was born and raised in Caron, SK and worked as a nurse’s aid at the General Hospital in Regina, where she met and cared for Allan, who was in hospital with polio. Elma and Allan were married on June 30, 1956 and she later became a full-time homemaker when her children were born. Prior to Elma’s hip surgery in July 2020, she was extremely active, walking with her neighborhood friends nearly every day. She loved summer, tending to her beautiful flowers and kept her yard immaculate. Elma loved family gatherings, socializing with friends, travelling, curling, polka music, dancing and having fun. Elma and Allan moved to Brightwater Retirement Living, Regina, SK in August 2020. Although COVID-19 prevented them from visiting family and friends, they did enjoy the homecooked meals and the friendliness of the staff and residents. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Regina Pasqua Hospital 4B, 4C, and Palliative Care for their special care.

A private Memorial Service will be held for Elma. Donations in memory of Elma can be made to the MS Society of Canada.

With Deepest Sympathy

We were deeply saddened by the news of Elma's passing. We had the pleasure of spending many enjoyable winters curling and socializing with both Elma and Allan. Our sincere condolences go out to Allan and the family. George and Marion Lake.

We loved our aunt Elma. The decades of time spent on Forget Street and Maple Ridge Crescent will always be cherished. For the many wonderful meals with the best cabbage rolls ever will always, we say thank you so much. The silly games we’ve played over the years like charades and catch phrase leading to the completely unknown outcomes will always bring a feeling of warmth. And her contagious laugh will never be forgotten. I hear it in my heart as I type this. We love you Aunty Elma and sending love to Uncle Allan, Gloria, Dwight and families...
