Catherine Emma Buburuz

December 15th, 2021

On December 15, 2021 Cathy Buburuz left this earth to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior King Jesus Christ at the age of 68 years.

Cathy was predeceased by her parents Phillip and Rita Nakoneshny. She will be missed tremendously by her husband and best friend of 47 years Ivan Buburuz; her daughters Tasha Cavanna and Tyra Buburuz; grandchildren Samuel, Abigail, Lily Hana, Amaris and Cedar; siblings Cindy Nakoneshny and Randy Nakoneshny; many nieces and nephews; as well as many extended family members and friends from across the world including from the Philippines and the United States.

Cathy attended St. Joseph Elementary School and Miller High School in Regina, SK, before going to work at Safeway Canada and later Indian Northern Affairs Canada. Over the years she enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, writing short stories and poetry and watching movies. She was a blessing to all who knew her. We thank God for her and look ahead to the day when we will all be together again. Until then, she would want you to know...John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that whomever may believe in Him shall not perish but may have eternal life.

Messages:

It is a sorrowful thing to endure the remainder of your journey when you had such a fine companion to travel with Ivan, but take heart in the memory and bask in warmth that your daughters and grandchildren provide. You are in good hands. You will travel together in time. Peace be with you all.

So very sorry for your loss. Cathy's many inspirational messages on Facebook were a testament of her deep and everlasting faith in God. May all the wonderful memories you hold in your heart give you peace and strength to support and love each other as a family. Hugs and prayers to all of you.

I'm truly sorry, for your loss, no words can describe how beautiful and loving your wife, mother, and grandmother she was. And her telling me how much she loved you. Thinking and praying for you, Ivan, and your family. Dale Sandhoff and family

Before she passed away, a typhoon was on the way, but it did not directly hit us. Because our dear Cathy prayed, and it worked in Jesus' Name. This is her last powerful prayer before her departure. And we appreciate all her prayers and love for us, for more than a decade. To the Buburuz Clan, bear in mind that the most important thing is that we could serve Him until our last breath like Sister Cathy did. We will see her soon when Jesus returns to earth, resurrect the elect and join Him in His Kingdom. We will never forget all her efforts. We love you all our Canadian family. Praying for you always. God bless you all!

My condolences and prayers for each of you. I am Cathy's friend from Facebook. We really didn't know, actually, how we met on Facebook. We just knew that it was God who put our paths together. Cathy inspired me of the love that she had for her family. She shared wonderful stories and pictures of her work outside which was just beautiful and would include her grandchildren's love for outside. Cathy had a love for watching movies as she would always share titles of movies that my son and I would enjoy. She loved the LORD tremendously and would always pray for others. I will miss her for she was a dear friend. It was amazing that I would receive a card from her on the 15th of December, again, sharing her love for both me and my son.

My deepest sympathies to all the family members. Cathy was such a beautiful woman inside and out and will be missed by us all. Love Aunty Linda Always take the time to look back at all the wonderful memories of the past.

I'm truly sorry for her loss. I miss her dearly. I only knew her on FB but I knew for a long time. I think about her regularly and I know she's in Jesus's arms. Sent prayers to her family and friends.

Hi Ivan, Tara, Tasha and family. Sooo sorry to hear about Cathy. It was a shock when we heard as we were unaware she was I’ll. We will miss seeing her in the yard. Take care of each other and remember all the good times. Thinking of you all.
