Joseph "Joe" Peter Aspeleiter

June 3rd, 2021

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph (Joe) Peter Aspeleiter on June 3, 2021 at the age of 83. He was predeceased by his parents John and Mathilda (Brilz); his brother Rufus and his sister Millie Rance; and his son-in-law Sheldon Fritz.

He is lovingly remembered by his four children Dean (Laurie), Shannon, Belinda, and Lana (Jim); his grandchildren Courtney, Ryan (Arienne), Jennifer (Matthew), Kyle, Kimberleigh (Thomas), and Kaytlyn; his great-grandchildren Braylon, Callie, Ashtyn, and Taliya; his loving partner Tina; and four step-grandchildren from Michigan Logan (Lauren), Kolton, Janna (Austin) daughter Alanna, and Macie.

Anyone who knew Joe knew him as a good friend and a pleasure to be around. Everyone he came in contact with, from the neighbours in his complex, to those he met in the food courts over coffee, to those who had the privilege of being long-time friends and family, can speak to the light and joy that Joe brought to their lives. His witty sense of humour could break down barriers and he was always able to find the light in any situation.

Joe is remembered as a hard-working man who took great pride in his work, especially in his career as a truck driver. Without a doubt, the role that Joe was most proud of was his role as Papa and Great-Papa. He loved to hear and share stories about all of his grandchildren and his house was adorned with photos of his grandkids spanning across decades.

A special thank you to the staff at the SICU Unit in the Regina General Hospital for their amazing care and attention.

Any donations in memory of Joe can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Messages:

Our condolences go out to the family. Joe was a great person. His laughter and jokes he use to make us laugh. He will be missed dearly . He had such a great heart. We will miss u Joe. Love Charlotte and Rolly

I just wanted to share my story about his scooter that he bought. Belinda and Sheldon brought him over on a Saturday for a test drive. The first thing he noticed was the wood deck lol, after examining the scooter we sent him on his way. We set it at the 4th speed and Belinda walked beside him, within 30 seconds he was gone down the street and Belinda was searching for him, the neighbour told her he was offroading in the back alley. When he got back the dial was at 10 and he had a smile on his face and said yes I will take it. Every time I think about that day I smile, he was happy that he could get around again and feel the wind in his hair. He was one of the good old boys who will be missed by all who met him.

Joe will truly be missed by many, he will always have a special place in our hearts and we will cherish the memories we have with Joe which we have many, from our family occasions. So sorry for your loss our condolences to you all. Hugs.
