Philip Puthenveettil John

December 8th, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Philip John Puthenveettil, late of Regina, Saskatchewan and formerly of Mavelikkara, Kerala, India on December 8, 2020 at the age of 82 years in the Pasqua Hospital, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada following a brief illness.

He was a benevolent devout Christian, principled gentleman, a good neighbour, a caring father, grandfather, and husband.

After his retirement from postal department our dear Pappa continued to work hard and tutored kids for 20 years. Even after moving to Canada at the age of 78, he continued to work and contributed to the nation’s economy. He was very systematic in all his life but philosophical in outlook. He put all his body, heart and mind into whatever he was doing. All in all, he exemplified the ideals of what a good human being should be.

Teaching was his passion. He took great pains to educate his daughters Sumana and Jabina who went on to become medical and veterinary professionals respectively. He then continued to motivate his grandchildren Christopher and Christina who are also in different stages of their medical careers.

He is also survived by his loving wife Alice Philip; sons-in-law John Mathew (a successful medical practitioner) and Thomas Sebastian (veterinarian); and grandson Joel Thomas.

He will be greatly missed by his immediate and extended family and friends.

Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, Saskatchewan (please meet inside the cemetery gate prior to service). If you want to attend the service please RSVP to Thomas at thomassebastian10@gmail.com
