Mary Agnes Horvath

On August 4, 2020, at the age of 97 years, Mary Agnes Horvath (nee Matai) passed away in Raymore, Saskatchewan in the same way she lived her life – with dignity and in peace. She was predeceased by her husband Frank; her parents Frank and Theresa Matai; her husband’s family; her brothers Frank and Joe; her sisters Anne Urszulan and Sr. Carola Matai; brothers-in-law Joe Eckle, John Urszulan, Richard Bast; sister-in-law Laureen Matai; son-in-law Mel Kotyk; and two grandchildren in infancy. She is survived by her children Vicky (Lionel) Lang, Gabe (Doreen), Frank (Deborah), Irene Kotyk and Sylvia (Curtis) Sanjenko; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; her sisters Sr. Helen Matai, Yolanda Eckle, Marge Bast, Rose (Claude) Desautels; brother John (Deanna) Matia and sister-in-law Velma Matai.

Mary worked hard all her life yet rarely complained about anything. She was a faithful woman who accepted the challenges and adversity that life presented with dignity and grace. She was always ready with a smile and a kind word.

Special thanks to the staff of Silver Heights Special Care Home in Raymore for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Mary in her final years.

Private Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020 in St. Mary’s Hungarian Catholic Church, Quinton, Saskatchewan.

My deepest sympathy to the family on your loss of such a wonderful lady. I was able to get to know Mary as a friend of my Mom’s (Agnes Weber) at Silver Heights. She always a pleasure to chat with when we stopped by the home for a visit. She will be deeply missed.
