Louis Anthony Hompoth

January 30th, 2020

On Thursday, January 30, 2020 Louis Anthony Hompoth passed away peacefully at the age of 87 years, with family at his side.

Louis was predeceased by his parents Anton and Rose; brothers Frank and Tony in childhood; granddaughter Andrea; and his brother Joe. He will be deeply missed and his memories will be cherished by his wife Emma; son Lorin (Shirley); daughter Laura (Jeff) Edmands; sister Ann (Bill) Sutherland; brother Frank; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; in-laws as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Louis’ greatest joys were his family, whom he loved unconditionally with his whole heart, and his faith. He had a great love for the Lord and a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. His faith brought him great comfort and even as his health declined, he continued to pray the rosary and attend daily mass as long as he could. Louis’ quiet, gentle demeanor, sense of humour and deep enduring faith are things we will always remember and miss the most. His family extends sincere thanks to the staff on Unit 4B at the Regina Pasqua Hospital for their care and compassion, especially Dr. Andrew Kielly who was our “angel”. We would also like to thank McMurchy Care Home, especially Venus and Ruth, for the love and care they gave to Louis.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 100 Argyle Street N., Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to William Booth Special Care Home, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 8P6 or to McMurchy Care Home, 87 McMurchy Ave., Regina, SK S4R 3G5.

God saw you getting tired

A cure was not to be,

So He wrapped you in His loving arms

And whispered, “Come with Me”

God took you to His loving home

And saved you from all pain.

We only pray that when you left us,

You knew how much we cared.
