Cathryn Louise Craik

September 10th, 2020

It is with unbelievable sadness that we announce the passing of Cathryn Louise Craik on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the age of 62 years young. She had her daughter Sabrina and wife Judy by her side. The past few years as Cathryn's health has deteriorated she has shown nothing but strength, courage, determination and pure stubbornness. Throughout everything she faced she continued to be a source of strength for everyone she loved including her mother Doris, sister Carolyn,  and her granddaughters Elianna and Lily, both of whom she always had a smile and laugh for.

Cathryn saw life as an adventure and after high school she traveled throughout Europe and Asia for most of her early twenties. After returning to Edmonton she found more through marriage and a move to the NWT. Although the marriage ended soon after it began she walked away with her greatest and favourite adventure, her daughter Sabrina. Together they made their own adventures, big and small and through good times and bad. Their bond was one they treasured and held close always. The two remained in the NWT until 2000 when the pair moved to Saskatchewan for their biggest adventure yet.

Despite her reluctance after the failure of her first marriage, Cathryn was unable to stop herself from falling in love again and in the summer of 2000 she and Judy met and found in each other a love and companionship they both needed. In 2010 Cathryn finally agreed to get married again and never regretted it.

In 2011 and 2014 Cathryn was by Sabrina’s side as she and her husband John welcomed their 2 daughters. There was no greater joy in her life than being with her granddaughters.

Cathryn’s greatest happiness was her family and although our hearts are broken over losing her we are all happy to know that she has been reunited with her father Fabian, Aunt Betty, and grandparents Fred, Dorothy, Rees and Kathleen. And we take comfort in knowing that although we cannot see her, her spirit and her love will be with us always.

We love her. We miss her. We grieve her. And so we will live our lives to make her proud.

Upon Cathryn’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. Memorial donations, in Cathryn’s memory, may be made to the Regina Humane Society at: www.reginahumanesociety.ca

Cathryn has been in my world a long time and I will cherish the fun we had when she came to Edmonton for visits. She used to help me pick raspberries out at the acreage and always had time to listen to my crazy stories. Cathryn I hope you are flying high and feel light as a feather now that you are free from the body that enforced restrictions on you. You are loved, cherished and missed . Darcey (sister-in-law)
