Adeline Bailey

July 8th, 2020

Adeline was kind, gentle and truly loved her family and friends. It is with great sadness that Adeline Bailey’s family announces her passing on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the age of 64 years.

Adeline always looked forward to visits and spending time with friends and family. You knew, without fail, that you'd be offered food, drinks and her favourite Werther's candies when you would visit. She was always right in the middle of any conversation because she just loved people. Her big, open smile and sense of humour made everyone feel comfortable and welcome in her home.

She was an early riser who enjoyed puttering around the house, waiting for her WWF/WWE to come on so she could cheer her favourite wrestlers on to victory. She wasn't much of a football fan, like it seems everyone in Saskatchewan is, but she could sure tell you fun facts about WWF/WWE wrestlers.

Adeline's favourite colour was green. She loved Chinese food, coffee and crime and mystery TV shows. She liked watching the neighbourhood squirrels and feeding them while they played in her yard. She loved taking pictures and having pictures of her friends and family. She was always cleaning and dusting her house. She was proud of her cabinet full of ornaments and her special angel figurines (hence the dusting). She loved having random dance parties in any room of the house. She enjoyed going for drives with Jim, simply to see some different scenery. She adored her son, Jason, and was so welcoming to his girlfriend, Jenn. She always gave Jason big, wet kisses on his cheek as a special hello. She truly had an 'open door policy' to everyone, and would look so forward to spending time with them. Our hearts ache in the loss of Adeline, but we know that she will be watching over us as our forever angel.

Adeline will be forever remembered and missed by her husband and best friend of over 20 years Jim; son Jason (Jenn); her brothers and sisters Eugene (Darlene) Sopkow of Merritt, BC, Billy (Evelyn) Sopkow of Edmonton, AB, Joan (Reg) Baerwald of Buchanan, SK, Rosie Shing (Norm Beutel) of Preeceville, SK, Jean Shiels of Kamsack, SK, Irene Bushe of Regina, SK, Susan (Ken) Mydonick of Regina, SK, Victor Sopkow of Kamsack, SK, and Elizabeth (Elden) Danyluk of Kamsack, SK. Adeline will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends who she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her parents Annie and Alex.

Adeline will be reunited with her Mom. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Canora Cemetery, Canora, Saskatchewan.

Thank you for your kind words during this time. Please treat yourself to a bag of Werther’s in Adeline’s memory.
