Georgene K. Asante

September 18th, 2015

Georgene Asante passed away suddenly on September 18, 2015 after a lingering and courageous battle with her illness. She was a loving mother, devoted wife, sister, daughter, friend, co-worker and always putting others before herself. Georgene had the most generous heart and touched many lives with her presence. Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life. Georgene was an avid reader who enjoyed the company of a good novel on her Kindle which accompanied her to wherever she went. She especially enjoyed spending time with her handsome son Cole, enjoyed the company of her brother Bj, and visiting with her best friends Erin and Coralee. Georgene is survived by her parents Dr. James and Ethelda Asante; her loving son Cole; her brother James K. Asante; her husband Perry Jones; and devoted friend Erin Viergutz. She is also survived by her paternal and maternal grandparents. Georgene’s memory will also continue to live in the hearts and minds of uncles, aunts, cousins, numerous extended family, past co-workers, and many life-long friends.

She was born on December 20, 1979 at Dudley Road Hospital in Birmingham, England. Georgene was a beauty in the world that filled many people with the incredible joy she felt for life. The Asante family would like to especially thank Dr. Abdulhadi, Dr. McDougal, and Dr. Bouwer for their phenomenal care during Georgene’s illness. A public viewing and visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM in Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3720 Hill Avenue, Regina, SK. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 4:00 PM in Seventh Day Adventist Church on Hill Avenue. Reception will follow at Curtis – Horne Christian School Gymnasium. Burial on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. Flowers most gratefully declined. Messages:

Dear James, Ethelda and entire Asante Family, Are deepest sympathies to you, on the loss of your wonderful and beautiful child. Georgene's kind soul and warm heart will be with you forever. Not until each Loom is silent And the Shuttles cease to fly, Will God unroll the pattern And explain the reason why The dark threads are as needful In the Weaver's skillful hand As The threads of gold and silver For the Pattern which He planned. God Bless, The Cope Family

To James, Ethelda, and Perry, Shurla and I along with the pastoral staff and members of Living Waters Worship Center of Seventh-day Adventists in Dallas, Texas, USA extend to you our deepest sympathy. We know that Georgene will be dearly missed by all of her wonderful family and friends. To your entire family we say, “Your sorrow is our sorrow.” The Bible declares that death will be the last enemy of God and man to be destroyed (I Corinthians 15:26). We have the assurance that when Jesus comes, He will “wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Revelation 21:4). We join you in looking forward to that blessed Day! Until then, may the grace of God through the sweet communion of His Holy Spirit be your healing balm. Sincerely, Marlon T. Perkins, Sr. Pastor First Lady Shurla R. Perkins
