Robert (Bob) John Grad

January 12th, 2012

With love and wonderful memories, we announce the passing of our husband, father, and grandfather. Bob, late of Regina, passed away in the loving arms of his wife on Thursday morning after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.  Left to celebrate his life is his wife of 41 years, Rosemary (nee Huck); children: Jason (Nancy), Cherillyn (Bryan), Rob (Ashley); and grandchildren: Noah, Kalum, Owen, Abby, Ella, and Catherine. Predeceased by his parents Jacob and Georgina Grad, Bob was a brother to Myrna Young; Ken (Lyla) Grad; and Anita (Bob) Weselowski.  A large extended family was always a source of strength and support to Bob. The visits, calls, and well wishes from his nieces and nephews meant the world to "Bobby G" over the last 4 years.  A proud and hard-working man, with a strong faith in God and the Church, Bob never failed to fill a room with fun and laughter. An avid fisherman, his final resting place will be up north on the lake he loved so much.  A Mass will be held in his honor on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in Bob’s church of many years, Holy Family Parish, 1021 McCarthy Blvd. N., Regina, SK with Rev. Brad Fahlman officiating.  Special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff from Palliative Home Care. Your humour, kindness, and support were invaluable to our family during this journey. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation to The Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St., Regina, SK., S4P 2R3.

Messages:

Hi Rose, I was so sad to hear of Bob's passing. You guys were such a team, such a partnership. What a wonderful photo of him, and I think it is nice that he made me laugh so much when I see his photo I giggle a little just seeing the twinkle in his eye. He is always with you. His physical body will be missed, his energy lives on, with you and your children. He was a blessing to our planet. Take care, Laura & Mark Grzyb

Dear Rosemary you have my deepest symphathy at this time. Bob was such a kind and funny person. During this time when he attended the office I was struck by his sense of humour. Bob showed great courage with a smile and teasing us at the office. Lee Ann

Cherillyn, Rose & the entire Grad family... My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of loss. Losing your dad is a very tough thing to go through but it's a comfort later to always know he's watching over you. Bob likely never knew this but through years of coaching our softball teams, he was also a mentor and guide in my life. I have the most amazing memories and thoughts of Bob & I wish I'd have taken the time to thank him. He will be missed, but remember to love your new angel. Sincerely, Tanya, Ryan and family.

DEAR ROSEMARY- MY HUSBAND AND I SEND OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHIES AND CONDOLENCES TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN THE LOSS OF BOB. WE LIVED IN BALGONIE FROM 1956-1970, AND ATTENDED PUBLIC SCHOOL/HIGHSCHOOL THERE. WE REMEMBER THAT BOB ALWAYS HAD A SMILE ON HIS FACE, AND A LAUGH TO SHARE WITH THOSE HE WAS AROUND. CANCER HAS NO PREFERRENCES, IT TAKES TOO MANY LOVED ONES FROM US. WE HAVE FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE (I LOST MY SISTER, JUDY, THIS SPRING TO PANCREATIC CANCER) OF THE DEVISTATION IT CAUSES TO SO MANY FAMILIES. PLEASE KNOW THAT OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL. JOHN and LORNA PARSONS.

Rose and Family Deepest sympathy in the loss of Bob, your husband, father and grandfather. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Rose and families, I was saddened to hear of Bob's passing. I think back to the softball days and all the fun we had. Bob was always great to be around and lent a light aspect to everything we did. My sympathy to you and your family at this time of sadness. May you find strength in your faith. Sherry

We are so very sorry for your loss . Your loving and close family will find strength and solace in one another. You are in our thoughts at this difficult time.

To the Grad family: Our sincere condolences on your loss. Four years is a long time to battle with cancer. Having recently lost one of our own to this awful disease, our hearts and prayers are with you.

Myrna and Lyla and your family: Gay and I wish to extend our sincerest condolences to you and your family on the loss of Bob. Our thoughts are with you and we know that the legacy of love that you shared with Bob and family will always be a source of comfort to you.

We to Extend our Deepest Condolences To Rose and Family

Please accept my deepest sympathies on your loss. I will miss the long chats and fishing stories with my friend. Our thoughts are with you and yours.

To Bob's Family: Please accept our deepest sympathy to you all. Always a perfect Sunday morning when Bob would walk into the church and there we sat, and he always stopped and chatted. And he and Nick always managed a laugh or two, even during the recent times when he was so ill...never complained, always had an "up" comment. So we now have an angel shining down on us. Regards, Nick & Shirley

We wish to extend our deepest condolences to Rose and family. We are presently out of country and are unable to make it to the celebration of Bob's life. It has been a few years since June and I have seen Bob but one only has to think back to the days when we played Broomball together. Bob was always a lot of fun to be around. He was a genuine friend to everyone he associated with and I will take nothing but good memories with me of him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. May he rest in peace.
