Roger Ballantyne of Red Deer, Alberta died unexpectedly at work on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the age of 39 years.

Roger is lovingly remembered by his family; loving wife, Nicole; children, Shayden, Sara, Drayden, Nichalas, Jake, Alivia; father, Laddie; brothers, Roman, Randy (Danielle); sisters, Lorraine, Tricia (Ike); father-in-law, Larry; mother-in-law, Janice; Luke, Kurt as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Roger was born in The Pas, Manitoba on July 28, 1975 to Laddie Ballantyne and the late Mary-Jane Ballantyne. Roger met the love of his life while working in Fort St John, BC and later moved to Red Deer, AB.

Roger was a devoted father. He treasured his time with Nicole and their kids. He was a carpenter who enjoyed cooking and fishing and loved the outdoors. He was a problem solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and all that knew him.

I am very sorry to here the bad news. Like him I to have a family that I care for as he. I worry sometimes about what will become of my family if I ever left this life. I read his face book and scroll through and you are one of the happiest family's iv seen on there. Please be strong and hope the family stays strong. Prayed for you all god bless. Randy was a good friend in school and always had good memories. And not long after I met his brother great guy. Was a loss to this town for guy's like them to leave.

I know in my past conversations with you and Roger that he was always very concerned and supportive for the education and well being of his children.
