Sylvia (Sijke)Westerhof was born in Lucaswolde, Groningen, Netherlands on March 5, 1939, and went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2024.
Sylvia immigrated to Ladner, BC in 1949, at the age of 10, along with her parents, 5 brothers and 4 sisters. She met the love of her life, Walter, and married him in April 1957. They made their home in New Westminster and then moved to Burnaby in 1964, and then to Maple Ridge in 1996.
Sylvia was a loving wife to Walter for 67 years.
A caring mother to John (Pat), Debbie (Jack deceased) Van Starkenburg, Rick, Cindy (Bert) VandeRiet.
Oma to 15 grandchildren Dawn (Ed), Maria, Tyler (Tanya), Janna (Dave), Gerry, John (Aida), Sophia (Max), William (Dominique), Daniel, Lance (Alea), Gary, Martina, Kendra (deceased), Julia, and Tessa.
Great Oma to Jolene, Eddy, Glen, Carol, Isaiah, Nyomi (Ben), Anaiya, Olivia (Clayton), Gloriana, Jack, Drew, Alina, Felix, Theo, Ellie, Alexis, Callum, Owen, Jordyn, Grace, Dylan, Kaitlyn.
Great Great Oma to Atlas, Selah, and Houston.
Predeceased by ten siblings.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and other caregivers that provided excellent care to Sylvia over the last weeks.
The family will be laying Mom to rest at Valley View Cemetery on Friday March 22 at noon.
All are welcome to join us for a celebration of Sylvia’s life at the New Westminster Christian Reformed Church on March 22, 2024, at 2:30pm with refreshments after the service in the fellowship Hall.
So sorry for your loss. We will always remember her as a feisty, fun loving lady with a great zest for life. Prayers for you all as you gather together to celebrate her rich and long life.
