Jeanne Olive Cassidy

October 30th, 2018

Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister passed away October 30, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.  Jeanne was born in the small mining community of Ymir, British Columbia.  Being the oldest of five siblings, Jeanne learned responsibility at a young age, helping her mother care for the family.  The caring nature she developed as a child became a core value she carried the rest of her life.

Jeanne was a loving mother who provided strong guidance and support for her 3 boys. She worked at Mission Oaks Medical Center for over 30 years and greeted every patient with compassion and a warm smile.  She was an avid curler who loved playing the sport for over 30 years and equally enjoyed watching it after her playing days were over.  She is probably throwing Third rocks for her favorite curler (Sandra Schmirler 1963-2000) as you read this!  She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

Jeanne is survived by her Sons; Dwayne (Lynn), David, her Grandchildren; Sara, Taryn, Nicholas, Brett, Kaydra and Matthew, her Sisters; Faye (Ken), Tanis (Greg), her Brother; Dale (Anne-Lise) and many nieces and nephews. Jeanne was predeceased by her Son; Stephen and Brother; Bud (Brenda).

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Abbotsford Hospice Society. To allow all family members to be together, the celebration of life gathering will be held at a future date. For those that wish attend, please contact Jeanne’s son David at jeannecassidy1939@gmail.com. He will provide details when the event is scheduled.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
