Carol Jane Casavant

February 10th, 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Carol Casavant. Carol passed unexpectedly on February 10, 2018, at the age of 80, with family by her side.

Carol was born in Watrous, Saskatchewan and at an early age her family moved to Kimberley, B.C., where she would spend the next 50 years.  During this time she met and married the love of her life, George, and together they had two daughters, Kelly and Lori Ann.  They moved to Kamloops in the early 1990’s to be closer to family, and in 2003 made Chilliwack their home.  Family was the most important thing to Carol and she felt very blessed to have four wonderful grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  Her family was her world and she meant the world to her family.

Carol was predeceased by her parents, Dick and Irene Amy, and her brother, Bud Amy.  She is survived by her husband of 62 years, George; daughters, Kelly (Bob) Power, Lori Ann (Jim) Waites; grandchildren, Ian (Julia) Power, Nathan (Shannon) Power, Justin (Sarah) Waites, Amy (Jared) Webster; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Ryerson, Mila, Anella, Halen, James, Wells, and Charlotte, sister, Wyonne, sister-in-law, Doris, as well as many nieces and nephews, and so many good friends.

Those wishing to remember Carol may donate to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Carol’s name.

A tea for friends and family of Carol will be held at Carol and George’s home on Tuesday, February 20th, 2018 at 1:00 pm.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.

It's difficult to put into words all the wonderful things that Carol brought to our family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, a wonderful daughter in-law and sister in-law. I'll miss her wonderful laugh, and the sense of humor we shared over the years. Her leaving us has left a space in our lives that will never be filled...

Sincere sympathy to George and family. We have years ,in Kimberley, as a very common bond. Maureen grew up in Kimberley, attending the same school, KHS. Brian and youngest son used to go for walks and remember Carol while having their coffee break, at the Blarchmont corner store. Blessings, Maureen and Brian

My condolences to the family. I first met Carol when George was working in Greenland in 1974. Our paths crossed many times since then. She was a lovely person.
