Curtis Wright

November 10th, 2017

Curtis was born in 1963, in North Vancouver.  On November 10, 2017 we said “ciao” to Curtis, because it was never goodbye to him. His love, spirit and his lessons, will live on in our memories and hearts forever.

Curtis is survived by his wife Lori, of 29 years, daughters Melissa and Deanna (Raymond).  Mother and father-in-law, Dorothy and Dave Tuba, brother-in-law Ron Tuba (Myrna) and many more relatives and friends.  Curtis was an exceptional husband, father and friend.

Curtis loved his job at Waste Management as driving and operating equipment has been his passion since age 16.  He was also a long time and well-respected Chief Shop Steward who proudly held the position of Trustee on the IUOE Local 115 Executive Board.  He represented his coworkers and his Union with pride and professionalism and was never shy to tackle any issue or problem he was presented.

Curtis’ problem solving ability was not limited to just his workplace as he truly enjoyed the “art” of fixing/repairing things around the house.  There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix and did the research necessary to make sure it was fixed right the first time.

Curtis had a love for ACDC.  He always said, “It’s a long way to the top if you wanna rock ‘n roll”.

Curtis did not have a bucket list, he always lived his life by doing what he wanted, when he wanted.  He had no regrets.

We all love you so much, we know you will be busy fixing and operating whatever you can up there!

Until we meet again … WE SALUTE YOU!

There will be a Celebration of Life to honour Curtis, held on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the IUOE Union Hall 4333-Ledger Avenue, Burnaby.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations be directed to the family who will make a charitable contribution in Curtis’ name.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
