Garth Morrow Gilbert

August 10th, 2017

Gil, as he was known to his friends, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2017 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre at the age of 81.

Gil was born in Victoria, B.C. and joined the military service in 1952. He became a Sergeant in the Royal Canadian Air Force and was honourably released in 1983. After his military service he was involved in the motor vehicle industry as a Service Manager and loved auto racing and hot rods were his hobby. He also became a certified motor cycle instructor. He was a life member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and a part of the Precision Riding Team BC-D Chapter and enjoyed many years of attending rallies and tours on his Honda Gold Wing to various parts of Canada and the USA with fellow members. In his latter years he enjoyed a peaceful life at home watching his favorite dusters on TV.

He will be sadly missed by his friends and acquaintances and especially by his best friend and companion Frieda.

Heartfelt thanks to the B.C. Ambulance Paramedics and the doctors, nurses and staff of the Abbotsford Regional Hospital for their care and compassion.

Gil requested no service but in his memory please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
