Heather Jean Erskine

April 16th, 2014

Heather Jean Erskine, 60, of Abbotsford, lost a valiant battle against cancer with her family and close friends by her side, late Wednesday April 16, 2014.

Born in 1954 in Penticton, BC she was the best thing to happen on the first day of every year. Being a child of an Army dad Heather with her 4 siblings moved all around Canada to keep up with her dad's career.

October 4, 1986 Heather married the love of her life Lannie and started their joyous journey together.  Heather never had any children before she met Lannie but when she married him she inherited his six children and you would never believe they weren't her own.  The love, caring and compassion she showed to all the children she took to motherhood like a fish to water.

Heather is survived by her loving husband Lannie, six children Vickie, Brad, Edward, Eileen, Chris and Shaun,  sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, her mother Thelma Burns, 3 siblings Nola, Lorna and Rob.  Heather was pre-deceased by her father, Jim Burns and her sister Sheila.

This beautiful soul has left a giant hole in every heart she touched which will take years if ever to fill, but one thing is for sure we have all received the most amazing guardian angel that anyone could ever ask for.

The family will be planning a celebration of life in the coming months and will announce a date once it has been finalized.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Heather's name to your favourite charity or cause.

Please remember it's not goodbye, but see you later.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.

I was saddened to see that Heather has passed away, but just as the past few years she will always be remembered as one of my favourite clients! It was a real pleasure to have known Heather. My condolences to the family and especially Lanny. Cindy Vodermayerj96rvk

I first met Heather was I started my first job in Canada, back in 1973, she was a great friend, even if we didn't speak daily,we kept in touch. I will miss her dearly, but I know she is now at peace after her courageous battle. I know the family will hurt for a while, we all will, but we can take strength in knowing she is watching over us and laughing when we mess up. Rest in Peace Heather, love from Cindy & Family
