Peter Reen

July 27th, 2013

The family of Peter Reen sadly announces his sudden passing at Peace Arch Hospital on July 27, 2013.

Peter was born in Sneek, Friesland and came to Canada after the war where he found his way into the Standard bred horse industry.

After many years of driving and training horses in Ontario and Quebec, Peter moved to B.C. where he maintained a stable of race horses until his retirement in 1999. A devoted supporter of harness racing in BC, Peter could always be found at Fraser Downs racetrack in Cloverdale where he was always surrounded by his many friends.

Peter will be lovingly remembered as a great father, devoted grandpa and loyal friend.

Please join the family for a celebration of Peter’s life at Fraser Downs racetrack on August 17th, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. (Bring along your stories! We look forward to sharing warm memories with you.)

You are invited to leave a fond memory or message of condolence for the family.

Messages:

Sad news. Peter was an integral part of the landscape of Sandown/Cloverdale, as much so as the old oak tree. My best regards and condolences to those that held him dear.

I have so many fond memories of Peter back in the mid 80's. He was a quick wit who kept us all laughing with his jokes. He was a great person who will be dearly missed by all who know him. My condolences to his friends and family.
