Raymond Siracky passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Foothills Medical Centre at the age of 76 years. Born November 9, 1944, in High River, Raymond grew up in Arrowwood and took his schooling in Arrowwood and Vulcan. After graduating, he worked for farmers, then for Federal Grain at Shouldice and Arrowwood. Following this, he was employed at L.H. Phillips and Sons Hardware store and later the Arrowwood Co-op. In May of 1983, he married Marilyn Burriss. He continued to work for the Arrowwood Co-op until he retired. Raymond also served as janitor of the Arrowwood School for 15 years, as well as serving in the community on the hall board for several years, and in his church. He enjoyed sports, rodeos, especially the chuckwagon races, and doing odd jobs around the house and yard.

 

Besides his loving wife, Marilyn, Raymond is survived by his daughter, Carla; his sisters, Annette Hawkins and Jean (Dale) Sedor; brother-in-law, Dennis (Ruth) Burriss, and sisters-in-law, Karen Buijs, Cheryl (Don) Holloway, and Gina (Dave) Massie; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Warren; his parents, Michael and Mary Siracky; stepmother, Doris Siracky; father and mother-in-law, Gene and Geneva Burriss; and brothers-in-law, Doug Hawkins and John Buijs.

 

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the doctors and nurses who cared for Raymond on Unit 112 and Unit 46 at the Foothills Medical Centre.

To hear of Raymond’s passing makes me sad and to have had the privilege to see Raymond and you Marilyn just days before I will cherish. I believe God takes the good ones early as Raymond completed all he was to complete. Sad for the rest of us left behind. My thoughts and prayers to you Marilyn and Carla.
