Florence Cecelia Borgens

June 10th, 2021

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Florence Cecila (Greene) Borgens. Florence left us suddenly but peacefuly in her sleep on the morning of Tuesday, June 10, 2021, at the age of 65. In life her primary focus was the selfless care of others; her family, her patients, and her parents. We will hold dearly the memories of Florence playing her guitar at family gatherings, wearing her Willie Nelson bandana and singing hopeful hippy music in her sweet voice. A memory that will last for us forever. For those she cared for as a nurse, she will be remembered with her caring touch, attention to their needs, and above all the way her face would light up when she greeted them each morning. She leaves behind her best friend and husband, Richard; her children, Matt and Stephanie; her brother, (Larry); and sisters, Cathy, Patricia, Mary, and Theresa; and her grand-daughter, Summer, and grand-son Kaysen. Plus brother in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews. She was loved by many and will be missed so very much. Someday we will see your beautiful face again in the house of the rising sun

Aug 13, 2021 - Florence, I'm so sorry that Ross and I are unable to attend your celebration in person but we will be there in spirit, thought and prayer. I want to let you know, Flo, that you are celebrated every day! Love and miss you sis - still can't believe you are already in Heaven. But you are a go-getter!

July 5, 2021 Happy Birthday Florence - Thinking of you and miss you so very very much! Love and Peace Flo - your sister Pat

I was saddened to hear of your moms passing Stephanie and Matt. I’m so very sorry. I’m thinking of you in such a sad time. Sending huge hugs!

It's a special calling. Some women “aunt” as second mothers, friends, or teachers. They give an extraordinary kind of love to their nieces and nephews. Parents teach and advise their kids, grandparents spoil them, and aunts provide all of this to their nephews and nieces. My Aunt Flow did exactly this for not only me but the rest of her nieces and nephews. May you Rest In Peace Aunty Flow Love your nephew Brett Greene

I have no words just like when i was little so back then you being my big sister you would speak for me. I love and miss you deeply Your sister Cathy

You are free You are the wind You are the brezze You are the warmth You were here You lived You loved You sang You were you you mattered I love you so much big sister And it hurts everyday I miss you and wish you were Still here I can' t believe you are gone I wrote this for you Someday we will be together again

"We little knew that morning That God was going to call your name In life we loved you dearly In death we do the same It broke our hearts to loose you You did not go alone For part of us went with you The day god called you home You left us precious memories Your love is still our guide And though we cannot see you You are always by our side Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same But as God calls us one by one The chain will link again." Author unknown We love and miss you very much. Thinking of you every day. Rest easy - Matt, Marie, Summer, and Kayson

Florence, I remember one day at work there was some funky music playing in the dining room. I started dancing and you boogied over to join me. Kitchen staff came out to watch....and the residents sat there just grinning and enjoying the spectacle. Rest in peace, Flo.

Will miss you my friend. We have so many fun memories from the past 23 years. Saving a Newfie from barb wire comes to mind, your kind heart and our years of swapping books amongst your family and me. Be at rest we have always and will always love you. Dave & Penny Lock

We are still in shock. Our hearts are with you all, and may your hearts be full of peace and joy again soon.

Flo…you were a woman and nurse with a deep genuine spirit of compassion and empathy. Your passion and drive to serve others and maintain a sense of humour during everything drew people to you. I always loved working with you…I will miss you Flo.

Big sis … I’ve always looked up to you and have enjoyed being your little sister…love and miss you…till we meet again … your Lil sis

Florence, I never told you how proud I was to have you as a sister and how much of an influence you were in my life. You modeled what it meant to be a strong, determined and caring woman at the same time having a free spirit and love for life and music. It always amazed me how much you cared and loved your patients or should I say your friends, as that’s what they were to you. The world has indeed lost a very giving, thoughtful and caring person. I will always remember you as my Florence Nightingale. Rest in peace, Flo!
