BEYNON, Kathleen Sarah

November 18, 1931 – October 19, 2021

Kathleen Sarah Beynon (nee Wallace), the cornerstone of our family and the community of Cochrane, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. “Kas” was a sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother (“GG”) and a friend to many. In her early years she was a horsewoman, baseball player, curler and curling coach, participant of the labour day parade, sewer, as well as a volunteer with the United Church Woman’s Auxiliary. She was a stay-at-home mom that sewed many of our and her own clothes. Once her children were grown, she became a co-owner of “The Fabric House”.  It was at this time she began quilting. Each of her family, many extended family, friends and various charities have been beneficiaries of the many quilts she has created over the years. Aside from quilting, she liked music, dancing, practical jokes, laughing, playing cards, games and doing puzzles. Family was everything to her be it one on one, Sunday dinners, or big family gatherings the more people around the better. No funeral will be held as she has donated her body to the University of Calgary. A private Internment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Lindsay Leigh Kimmett Memorial Flow-thru Fund at the Calgary Foundation 1180, 105 12 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB, T2G 1A1.

Messages:

Denis and I were so saddened to hear of Kass’ passing after we came home from a couple of weeks in Mexico. We have many wonderful memories of Kass from back in the day when the Active 20-30 was active and she opened her home for get togethers after fun nights of carolling. She was an awesome lady and I know her family will miss her dearly. Our sincere sympathies to her family.
