Ronald Earl Wright

August 5th, 2018

Wright, Ronald Earl, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at the age of 76 years. Ron was born in Edmonton, Alberta on October 12, 1941 to Sydney and Jessie Wright. Ron was the oldest brother to his siblings Lesley and Victor.

On September 5, 1964 Ron married the love of his life Gladys Bucharsky. At the onset of Ron’s career, he lived and worked in Edmonton, Alberta as an automotive mechanic at Shirley Ford for a number of years until he took on the role of Service Manager at Kentwood Ford. In 1977, Ron started up his own dealership under the name of ‘Wright Ford Mercury’ in Two Hills, Alberta.

In 1985, Ron and Gladys moved to Innisfail with their three children where Ron started working for Newman Ford. Moving throughout Alberta to various Ford dealerships, he retired from Lacombe Ford in 1998.

Ron loved being in the outdoors and camping. He volunteered countless of hours in the communities he lived as a coach or manager for minor sports and was the President of the Lions Club. He was always up for a good game of cards and learned to love reading in the latter part of his life. His biggest passion, and that which gave him the most joy, was his family and friends and the time he would spend with them.

Ron is predeceased by his parents, his brother Victor and his loving wife of 21 years, Gladys. He leaves to cherish his memory his two sons, Scott (Charlene) Wright, Douglas (Meaghan) Wright; his beautiful daughter Coreena (Greg) Novik; five granchildren, Darian, Trystan, Taelor, Payton, Sophie; and his brother Lesley.

The family will be having a Celebration of Ron’s Life at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at St. Andrews United Church, 128 1 St E, in Cochrane, Alberta. As per his wishes, the family will spread the ashes of Ron and Gladys together during a private ceremony to be held in the future.

The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Bow View Manor during his stay there. If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to a charity of their choice.
