ELLIOTT, Harold Wesley George

Harold Elliott passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s on Monday, October 16, 2017 at age of 74 years.

Harold was born and lived in around Belleville, Ontario until 1980. While living in Belleville, he enjoyed hunting with his good friends every fall and fishing year-round. He was a pilot and loved to fly with friends and relatives in his small plane he owned.

Harold decided in 1980 to come to Alberta to take part in the Alberta boom. He and his family, wife Betsy and daughters Laurie and Teresa lived in Calgary until 1985. Harold found new ventures in Lethbridge, Alberta and lived in Lethbridge until last few years. Harold then lived in a Seniors home in Calgary. While living in Lethbridge, he was part of The Miners Library and The Odd Fellows where he volunteered his time to support local charities. He decided to skydive for his 60th Birthday - It was a thrill of a life time!!

Harold worked in sales of cabinets and floor coverings most of his life and during his time in sales he was known to be able to sell ice to an Eskimo. He also was a great story teller.

Harold loved his grandchildren and would get down on the floor and play with them. They brightened his day even when they got older Harold is lovingly remembered by daughters, Laurie Baker(Bret) and Teresa Elliott- Doersam; grandchildren, Jodi Atfield (Jeff), Michael Baker, Paytyn Doersam; 2 great granddaughters, Jayda and Jemma Atfield; and brothers, William Elliott (Elaine) and Wayne Elliott. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Betsy Elliott; his parents, Wesley and Elsie Elliott and brother, Ronald Elliott.

Harold will be greatly missed by many friends and family. A private family Celebration of Harold’s Life will be held.

Messages:

To my nieces and family in Alberta, we send our warmest appreciation for all your tender caring efforts as you looked after my Brother. I will miss the Christmas telephone conversations in which we shared many happy moments. To Teresa and Laurie you have brought love to your parents which they held close to their hearts. We send our love to you all. Look up and see them smiling.

We are very sorry to hear of your loss, Harold was a fun loving, free spirited man and we're sure that him and Betsy are now at peace. Take comfort in knowing that others are thinking you. Rest in peace Harold.

Bill & I wish to give all the family our love and let you know we are praying for your comfort at this time. We know he is in a better place. We care about all of you. Love Bill and Jennifer.

Very nice obituary girls! Captured Harold in a very loving way. Nice photo of him. Sending our love to Laurie, Teresa and families. Harold had a way of keeping everyone around him laughing and shaking their heads at the antics that he could get up to. He retained his infectious smile even in the face of adversity. He will be lovingly remembered by all who crossed his path. Sonia and Stewart Begg Friends from way back

Sincere sympathy to the Elliot family...thoughts are with you Teresa...from myself and Rob

OMG! I was just thinking yesterday that I should call Harold out for a beer or something. Always enjoyed working with him at United Carpet and his friendship afterwards. He was easy to talk to (as was Bets) and he will be truly missed.

thoughts and prayers are with you at this time....

We loved your Dad and Mom very much, and had a lot of laughs with them. We also had a lot of laughs at your Dads expense. You know those darn screen doors DON’T ever look like they are closed!!! You’re Dad and Mom were great people. We are very sorry for your loss, but now they are together again and I’m sure Harold is an a******, according to your Mom!!!
