Michael Leo Breland

August 1st, 2017

BRELAND, Michael Leo
August 8, 1959 - August 1, 2017

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Michael (Mike) Breland. Mike leaves behind a family who loved him very much: his devoted mother, Irene; his sisters, Celeste, Cheryl (Rick) and Carolyn (Michael); his half-sister and brother, Michelle (Doug) and Daniel (Cathy); numerous nieces and nephews; cousins; and aunts and uncles. Born and raised in Calgary, Mike proudly lived out his days in his home city until his pain ended on August 1, 2017, when he went home to be with his father, Leo Breland. Mike will be missed and fondly remembered for his gentle soul, love of his family, the outdoors, dogs and rock music. We thank all the staff at the South Health Campus for their very kind care and attention to Mike on his final journey.

Please join Mike's family for a Celebration of Life Service at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 285, 9202 Horton Road S.W, Calgary, AB on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm.

Love you always Mike...till we meet again

Messages:

Dear Irene, Celeste, Cheryl & Caroline, We are sorry we are unable to attend the celebration of life for Michael. Our sincere condolences to everyone, we will be thinking of you today. My nephew Michael was such a quiet, kind individual and always had a warm greeting and smile for me whenever I visited Calgary. May you Rest In Peace Michael. Aunt Helen

Dear Mrs. Breland, Celeste, Cheryl and family, I was saddened to hear of Mike's passing. Please accept my sincere condolences. I remember Mike's mischievous smile and his gentle and kind manner. Unfortunately I have another commitment Saturday, so I am unable to attend the Celebration of Life.

Dearest Breland family just wanted you guys to know the McLennans are thinking of you at this time. Remembering fun times at the Majestic with Mike, and all the fun times hanging out in the basement in Fairview. Know we are thinking of you Celeste, Cheryl and Caroline.

My sincere condolences! Far to young and very unfair to be taken so young! RIP

Dear Irene & Family, I was saddened to learn that Michael recently passed away. Please accept my condolences. Years ago Michael and I attended Fairview Elementary and Junior High together. I remember watching Michael play his electric guitar in the basement of your home in Fairview. We both enjoyed The Beatles, and we both played lacrosse on the same team around 1970. I remember Michael's precocious confidence around girls. I was so shy, and Michael would introduce girls to me. I hope the memories of Michael comfort you during this difficult time. With much sympathy, Randy Takaoka
