BURKE, Clara Mae
January 7, 1933 – October 11, 2016

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Clara Mae Burke announces her sudden passing at the age of 83. Clara Mae was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Robert Burke. Robert was in the RCMP and Clara lovingly made a home for her husband and four children in the numerous places that Robert was posted throughout Alberta and Canada. Finally calling the Calgary and Cochrane areas home, Clara Mae and her husband lived their dream of ranching in the Foothills north of Cochrane and were actively involved in the RCMP Veterans Association as well as Cowboy Church in Cochrane. Clara Mae spent many years as a volunteer grandparent at Jerry Potts Elementary School in Calgary, sharing her sweet disposition and love to so many children. Clara Mae was born into the Braiden family in Sedgewick, Alberta and is predeceased by her parents (Andrew and Mary Ellen Braiden) and brothers, Andy, Bill and Jim. Nothing made Clara Mae happier than spending time with her family and friends. She is survived and dearly missed by her children – Robert (Raye), Bruce (Rene), Susan (Dean) and David (Kate); as well as her brother Bert and sister Sheila. Clara Mae was a loving grandmother to her 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. At Clara Mae’s request, there will be no formal service held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
