WILSON, Owen J. E.
November 2, 1932 – February 23, 2015

Owen was born in Manitoba and raised in Calgary from a young age. He passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at the age of 82 years. Owen was a graduate of Elbow Park, Rideau Park and Western Canada High Schools.  Owen trained as a Petroleum Engineer at Oklahoma University and worked for Mobil Oil in the 1950s before embarking on a career as an entrepreneur that saw him build everything from houses to boats.  Owen loved to fly and tinkering with his cars was his passion.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Trish; and their children, Jane, Karen, King, Nancy, & Paul; grandchildren, Alex (Issa), Houston (Jenn), Henderson, Kathleen, Joe, Josh and Matt; siblings, Jane and Vern (Megan) and their families; and his special friends including the Rosauers and Don. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If so desired donations in Owen’s name can be made to Wellspring Calgary (wellspringcalgary.ca), 1404 Home Rd. NW, Calgary, AB T3B 1G7, an organization he and his family cherished.  A special thanks to nurses Josh, Jane and Anne and the rest of the Home Care team, Drs. Ruether and Jenken and all of the staff at the hospitals where Owen stayed.

Messages:

Sorry to hear of Owens passing. I came across his obituary in trying to touch base with his brother Vern. I have great memories of the kindness there family extended me back in the forties. If Vern or Jane are still around would love to reconnect.

We extend our sincere condolences to Pat and the Family in the passing of Owen this past week. We often think back to the good times we had together while growing up as young families in the Oil and Gas Industry. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Sincerely, Beulah and Dave Tutt
