James Winston Smith, 73, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on the morning of Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in Calgary, Alberta. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his children, Deb Lagore, Darcy (Christine); grandchildren, Baylee and Chase Lagore, and Shy-Anne Wirsta; his mother, Barb Bjornson; and brother, Bryon. Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carole and by his daughter, Shelly Wirsta. In addition to his family, Jim will be remembered by the many friends he made through his work and his hobbies – golfing and curling. Jim will be most remembered as a model of consistency and support. Those who know him, know that he was less a man of words, and more a man of action. The example we remember will be of a man who was always ready to stand with you no matter what. He was a consistently caring and kind man. He will be remembered and greatly missed.
