Margaret "Marg" Elizabeth Sexsmith

August 9th, 2014

SEXSMITH (nee Matheson), Margaret Elizabeth

We are deeply saddened to announce that on Saturday, August 9, 2014 we said good-bye to our mom, Marg Sexsmith. Mom was born in Daysland, AB. She lived in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Mom married Bill Sexsmith in 1955. As a young woman, Mom worked at BMO, and later had a successful career in real estate. Her greatest joy was that of being a loving, devoted mother to Mike (Charlotte), Maureen, Bill (Kelly), Barb, John and grandmother to Megan (Vik) and Jeff. Marg was predeceased by her husband, Bill in 1998. Mom loved people and was full of character and humor. Mom, you will be deeply missed.

A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marg’s memory to Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of Canada, 3100 – 246 Stewart Green SW, Calgary, AB, T3H 3C8.

Messages:

Sorry to hear about your mom. She was a character with a big heart and you knew she really loved and cheered for her kids. Our thoughts are with all of you. John and LeeAnn

Our sincerest condolences to Margarets family. We were very shocked and saddened to hear of her sudden passing. During her time at Shouldice we chatted frequently, shared some funny stories and memories of our days in Varsity. She spoke of her children frequently, proudly, lovingly and with a twinkle in her eye. May you soon reflect on the memories with smiles instead of tears.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Maureen and the Sexsmith's family on the loss of their mother. Our prayers are with you all at this time. I met your Mom on numererous occasions when I was working at Height's construction many years ago. Marg would always make time to have a chat, share a laugh or she would talk about her children and how proud she was of them. She was a great lady. Again, our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Barry & Margaret McReavey
