James Michael Shimek

I wish to pass my condolances to Janet and the Shimek family. I had the opportunity to work and commute to work with Jim while we were at BC Hydro. During our commutes to work we had many interstting discussions about every topic in the world. He was a man very interested in other person"s ideas. Jim was a person you could count upon to assist you, big job or little job. He will be missed Clay Brown Surrey

I worked for Jim first on General Duty in Surrey from 1991 until 1993. He greatly assisted me with my career path in Drug Enforcement. Our careers crossed paths on many occasions throughout his tenure with B.C. Hydro. Jim was not only a great boss and mentor, but he ws a true leader that looked after his people. He was a great inspiration to the RCMP and to a lot of members careers (not many of them left anymore). Rest in peace my friend.

I was very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Many years ago I worked on the Burnaby Drug and Special Projects Unit and used to deal with him all the time at BC Hydro. I always found Jim pleasant and easy going and he made my job a lot easier. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Craig

I worked for Jim in the early 90's when he was the NCO i/c of C Watch in Surrey. I was a fresh recruit out of depot at the time and had no idea how lucky I was to have a boss like him until I look back 20 years and realize how seldom one gets to experience a leader like Jim Shimek. He was a man of integrity. He lead by example, was respectful of others and was loved by all who knew him. On behalf of myself and my husband, Craig, who knew Jim throughout his second career at BC Hydro, our deepest condolences.
