Janet Patricia Stuffco

December 25th, 2011

After a long struggle, we are deeply saddened by the passing of Janet Stuffco, our wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt. Janet passed away in the early hours of Christmas day - her favorite time of the year. She loved family connections at Christmas time and she truly embraced the spirit of spreading good will and joy to all. Family and friends alike will remember Janet's "home" by the aromas that permeated the air from one of her famous dinners where all were welcome.

Janet will be forever loved and remembered by her husband of 52 years, Michael; children, Leianne (Jack), Jeff  (Janet), and Tom (Sandra); sisters, Marilyn (Stan) and Dereka (Bill); and brothers, Brian (Brigitte) and Barry (Maureen). She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Christopher, Aspen, Amanda, Dustin, Derek, Kendra, Jenna, Zachary, and Jack Michael; five great grandchildren, Hannah, Kira, Tyler, Ethan and Kaitlin; as well as many extended family members who all hold a special place in their hearts for her.

Janet's life was one marked by care and generosity. Easily recalling the names and stories of friends and acquaintances she crossed paths with throughout her life, (however casual), was a testament to the importance Janet placed on relationships. She truly cherished all of her friends, many of whom she met through the West Park Community Association. Her career began with teaching in Peace River country followed by years as a Home Economics Teacher at Alberta School Hospital in Red Deer. She then worked for Central Alberta Residence Society and lastly at the Red Cross. In addition, Janet dedicated countless hours to charitable causes and helping friends in need.

Although sad in that we'll miss her kind and loving ways, we find solace knowing that she is in a better place.

A Memorial Celebration of Janet’s life will be held at the Harvest Centre, Westerner Park, 19
th Street in Red Deer on Saturday, January 7th at 1:00PM.

Memorial donations in Janet’s honor can be made directly to either The Red Cross, Central and Northern Alberta Region, #105, 5301 - 43 Street, Red Deer, Alberta T4N 1C8 or The Salvation Army, 4837 - 54 Street, Red Deer, Alberta  T4N 2G5.
