Hugh Lawrence Cleveland

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hugh Cleveland of Red Deer on October 3, 2011.  Hugh passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Pennant, Saskatchewan, Hugh grew up in nearby Swift Current.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 61 years, Shirley; three daughters, Laurie, Terry and Donna (Paul); his son Roy (Cindy); seven grandchildren, Christopher (Bry), Jennifer (Kevin), Taryn, Braden, Payton, Aaron, Hayley, and two great grandchildren, Aidan and Finn.  Hugh is also survived by his sister Helen (Trevor); brother Doug (Doreen) of Swift Current; sister-in-law Dorothy of Medicine Hat, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by three brothers, Bob, Jim and Pat; his sister Jean; brother-in-law Jim and son-in-law Ken.

A celebration of Hugh’s life will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Calgary Airport, 2335 Pegasus Road NE, Calgary at 4:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Lung Association, Box 4500, Station South, Edmonton, Alberta T6E 6K2 (www.ab.lung.ca).

Roy I was saddened to hear about your dad. It brings back memories of earlier days which involved playing hockey, cards, driving and other crazy stuff. Unfortunately I can’t make it on Saturday but my thoughts are with you and your family.
