Lorna Grace Scotten

April 18th, 2020

The Family of Lorna sadly announce the passing of their dear mother. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, David (& Sheree), Donald (& Patricia); daughter, Mickey (& George); along with her grandchildren, Teah & Shae, Adam & Jennifer and Krista who are resigned to let her go. Lorna’s defiant spirit embraced life despite many hardships, always maintaining her sense of humor and recognizing the goodness in people. She felt most rewarded when working with people with special needs. We will all miss our spirited matriarch very much. We will never again see the likes of her mischievous, original and humorous interpretations of life. Mom/Grams, your spirit will always live on in us.

Messages:

I am so sorry to hear the passing of Lorna. Kathy and I knew Lorna for a few years and she was always such an inspiration. I kept contact with Lorna helping her in little repairs on her home or going to Dairy Queen for an ice cream. My condolences to the family. Ray and Kathy

As Lorna would say...damn. Very sorry for your loss, she was truly one of the good ones. I have fond memories of playing cards together and was very sorry to have lost touch in the later years. When we finally reconnected, it was as though we hadn't missed a day. Lorna welcomed my wife and daughter as if they were her own family, and there was genuine love shared between all of us. Lorna's spirit will live on and we will not forget the times we had together. Love and lollipops to you Lorna.

Hi David, Don and Mickey; My earliest memory of Lorna is from around 35 years ago and going to her house on the Kooteney for ginger snaps. For most of my life, hers were the standard by which a ginger snap would be judged! Later in Kelowna, she introduced me to Uno, Scrabble and taught me the trick of multiplying by 11. For a long time Lorna was the only 'Grandma' I had left. She will be missed. Take care of yourselves and each other. Ryan Mouck
