Duana Christine Jonasson

Duana Christine Jonasson, beloved daughter of Ed and Andrea Jonasson of Calgary, passed away on Friday, Novemeber 20, 2020 at the age of 51 years.

 

Duana graduated from Lord Beaverbrook High School in 1987 and was employed in various positions in her career. She will be remembered for having a very tender heart, loving deeply, being a champion of the underdog, having a great sense of humour and always enjoyed beating her brothers on the golf course, even if it was only on one hole. Duana cared deeply for her family and extended family, was proud of her heritage and had a great love for animals especially Dezi her beloved canine companion for the last twelve years. She will be deeply missed.

 

Besides her parents, Ed and Andrea, Duana is lovingly remembered by her son, Scott Laprade (Sarah); her brothers, Don  (Pam), David (Joan); and other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her oldest brother, Dennis (Michelle).

 

A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made on her behalf to the Calgary Human Society, 4455-110 Ave. SE, Calgary, Aberta, T2C 2T7, or the Heart and Stroke Fundation of Alberta, Suite 100, 119-14 st NW, Calgary, Alberta, T2N 1Z6.

I have so many memories visiting your home in Willow Park Green for sleepovers, playing on the golf course, Duana and I bunked together on our Edgewater trip. I am so very sorry for your loss. I'm so sorry for your loss. Duaña was my bbf and my wonderful soul sister ❤️. She was so caring and thoughtful. She had a kind spirit and always knew in your voice if something was bothering you. I loved being around her. She was very smart and always could make me smile and laugh even if I didn't want to. She'll be will be missed deeply but not forgotten RIP my soul sister. I’m so sorry to the family for the loss of Duana. I had lunch with her a couple of months ago and we laughed had a great time and said hey, let’s not let so much time go by and do this again. Dee and I became friends after High School. We lost touch years ago but I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing. She had the best smile and we had great adventures together. She was a great friend. Thankful for memories we made all those years ago.

I can’t even put it into words how sad I am that Duana passed away. I honestly loved her and wanted her to be the best she could be. You were such good parents to her. It breaks my heart. Sincere condolences, I will always have love in my heart for your family and Duana.
