We would like to thank the staff at Aspen Ridge for all the wonderful care they gave Jack. We have the utmost respect, admiration and love for all of them.

Messages:

I am so sorry to hear about my good friend Jack. I worked with him at Co-op Travel for 11 years and when I left we kept in touch for many years until he took ill. He always had a smile and the trouble we got into! The clients loved him and would always stop by for a visit. We never got any work done. We were so close . Rest In Peace my friend. I will never forget you . Love you. If you could let me know when have something planned I would like to be there. Bonnie

Uncle Jack was a loving, sweet, funny man. He had such a wonderful energy. In high school I had to do a report on someone and Uncle Jack was the obvious choice. His world travels and great sense of humour made him a fascinating man. He would call our house and when you answered he would say "why are you calling me?"... maybe this is one of those things that's funnier in the moment... and I can tell you - I have a lot of these moments. One year, he sarcastically told me that he made me a macaroni pencil holder for Christmas. And then on Christmas Day, low and behold - a tin can covered in tin foil with macaroni glued all over it! Gosh, I loved that man. And he's gone way to soon. It's heartbreaking. Love and miss you forever Uncle Jack XOX

Donna & Danny, Connie & Ernie, Colleen & Doug and families. Our condolences on Jack's passing. I spoke to my Brother Bob yesterday and just learned of Jack's passing. Thanks for letting us know, I will always remember Jack as as family guy who travelled the world. Sounds like Jack was loved by all his neighbours in Calgary from reading the other comments from people he knew. RIP Jack.

I too have many fond memories of his mischievous ways. Whether it be a quiet smirk or stirring it up, his presence always brought on a smile or a laugh. Reading all the kind words here speaks volumes to the person Uncle Jack was and I couldn’t agree more. He left too early but I think he’s in a better place now. He won’t be forgotten. How could you forget a guy like him?

My sincere condolences to all Jack’s family. I will always remember Jack for his tremendous humour and those mischievous ways of his. One day walking to my grandparents house on my lunch hour ( I had to sprint) Jack managed to catch up with me. Matching stride for stride, he said oh my girl, where are we going so fast? Slow down and enjoy the scenery. Always friends after that. See you again Jack with the beautiful scenery of heaven. ❤️

My condolences. Jack he lived right next door to my Nonna, he was more then a neighbour. He was always there on the first day of school for me and my sister i remeber him waving goodbye to me and my sister. I remeber having dinner with him all the time. Jack was kind of like a grandpa. I know now though that he is in a better place. Lots of love Jack, Goodbye

Uncle Jack was the best uncle you could hope for. He was hilarious, and as far back as I can remember we were always excited to see and be teased by him. We loved hearing about his many travels, and seeing all the pictures and artifacts. We loved the jokes and the stories he would tell. We loved how he would ALWAYS take a bite out of a cookie then put it back on the plate. He was a huge part of our lives when we were little and helped take care of us and our mom, (his sister) who was a young single mother at the time. I have so many beautiful memories of uncle Jack, for which I am so grateful. He was a wonderful, positive, kind spirit and soul. Uncle Jack, I will miss you so dearly, and I look forward to the day that I will see you, Grandma and Grandpa again. I wish you peace. Love, your #2 Bunyak, Danielle xoxo

I loved Jack like a son. He was so gentle with me. He never spoke badly to me, he was always kind and patient. Now I know he’s in a better place, but I miss him so much. I am sure he’s gone to heaven. Love to his family and my condolences. Goodbye Jack, I love you.

To my friend Jack: I will always be grateful for your friendship, support, and help. I meet Jack over thirty years ago, when he moved in next to me and my three children. As a matter of fact the day he was moving in I introduced myself to him and he never had a choice but to open his home and heart to us because the children would call on him often; special when he ordered pizza. Who would have thought that Jack would watch on grow and become adults and attent their weddings. Not to mention all their children He gave them guidance and love and support. They loved and respected them. We were very saddened to hear he had gotten too sick and needed to move into a care facility And when he passed we all cried. RIP our deep friend. Until we get there!! That is!!! Jack would often say in humor that we drove him to smoking

My deepest condolences to Jack's family and friends. I got to know Jack when I started dating the granddaughter of his next door neighbour and landlord. Jack was like a member of their family so I sat down with him for many an Italian feast. We bonded over our mutual Saskie roots and I was struck by his great sense of humour and his love and loyalty to my girlfriend's family. They really loved him and I could see why. He was a good man. Rest in peace, Jack. I'm happy I got to know you.

I was so very sorry to hear of Jack's passing. Jack was my next door neighbour, a great friend, then a roommate and lastly a co-owner of our first purchased home way back in the 70's! We shared lots of laughter and adventures together ... and I know Sandy, Donna, Rhonda and I drove him crazy on occasion with the antics we got up to but he was always a great sport! He was like a brother to me and he has been in my thoughts and prayers these past few years as Alzheimer's slow took him. May you find comfort at this time with all your fond memories.

I am so sorry for your loss and send lots of love and prayers to you all. Jack was a dear friend to me and my family, we will never forget him. He lived next door to us in bridgeland and then next door to my grandmother. I knew him my whole life and he never failed to remind me whenever I saw him that he changed my diapers when I was a baby. He was like family to us and when I had my own kids he was like a grandpa to them. They loved him dearly and laughed at all his silly jokes. He saw both my kids off on their first days of school and I could always count on him to keep an eye on them and play with them when we visited him and my grandma. Jack you will be so missed by us. Thank you for your warmth and love over the years. We love you Jack. Rest In Peace. Xo

Our sympathy and condolences to all of Jacks family. I met Jack in the 70’s when living in Calgary and what a nice guy. He was a good friend and I will always remember his kindness, humour and story telling of events and times with his family. So many good laughs and happy times we had and great phone conversations. My husband only met Jack once but shared telephone conversations and had some good laughs the two of them teasing me. Privileged to have known Jack.

Donna, Connie, Colleen and families So saddened to learn of Jack’s passing. Thinking of all of you at this difficult time. Love Aunt Muriel

Donna and Danny, Connie and Ernie, Colleen and Doug and families Such a sad time for all who knew Jack. He had the most wonderful sense of humour of anybody we know and he will be greatly missed by all of us who loved him. We all share such wonderful memories of him and will always keep him in our hearts. Our love to all of you. R.I.P. Jack. Love Linda and Dave

My condolences to all of Jack’s family and friends. Jack lived next door to my Grandmother for many years and I have known him my whole life. Jack wasn’t known just as the neighbor next door, he was part of our family. I have many great memories of Jack and will never forget his kindness generosity, and yes his teasing ways which he also expressed to my children lol. RIP my friend. Love from the Cortese (Luigi) family
