Anna Renee Brinston

September 25th, 2020

It is with unbearable sadness we announce the passing of Anna Renee Brinston on Friday, September 25, 2020 at the age of 84 years.

Anna is lovingly remembered by her 5 daughters, Linda, Diana, Elaine (Lyle), Eileen and Darlene (Kerry); and her brother, John (Betty). Anna is also survived by 12 grandsons; 5 granddaughters; 13 great-grandsons; 13 great-granddaughters; 4 great-great-grandsons; 2 great-great-granddaughters; and many loving extended family members.

Anna was predeceased by her parents, Joseph & Margaret; her 2 sons, Douglas & Russell; her 3 granddaughters, Tracy, Heather & Ava; and her beloved dog, Missy.

Anna had her struggles and torments growing up after being abandoned by her family at a young age. She filled that void with her children and loved each of us with her Mama Bear love and devotion. What we lacked in money and opportunity, she always made up with love and laughter. We never lacked what we needed the most. She’d move mountains to make sure we always had all we needed and almost everything we wanted. There was nothing she would not do for her family. If you were lucky enough to become her friend, then you also became her family. She was kind, thoughtful, loving and generous. She would give you her last dollar if you needed it.

She won Mother-of-the-Year contest more than once. She was a very hard worker and jack of all trades and happiest when she worked at Pepsi and helping to make parade floats for her employer.

She loved making personalized Christmas stockings for her family and friends that were intricate, beautiful works of art. She put all her love in each one. She was heart broken when several strokes limited her ability to make more. She was so proud to make and deliver over 50 stockings in her first year.

Christmas was her favorite time of the year, her enthusiasm was contagious. She was happiest having sleigh rides on the farm and ringing cow bells to usher in Santa for all the kids. It was not unusual for the family to welcome in a stranger or two so they could also experience and enjoy the holidays.

She enjoyed reading books by Lisa Jackson and Sidney Sheldon. One of her favorite movies was Fried Green Tomatoes and she enjoyed the occasional horror movie. She hated Judge Judy and Long Island Medium.

Her sense of humor knew no bounds and she made us laugh to tears with her shenanigans. This family will struggle for a long time trying to cope with her incredible loss

Thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at Foothills Medical Center & Red Deer Regional Hospital for all your amazing care and compassion

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be sent to Pawsitive Haven Rescue in the name of Hobo, for his continuing care, www.pawsitivehavenanimalrescue.ca; or STARS Air Ambulance, www.stars.ca.

Mom The morning that you died, our hearts were torn in two, One side filled with heartache, The other died with you, We often lay awake at night when the world is fast asleep and Take a walk down memory lane with Tears upon our cheeks Remembering you is easy, we do it Everyday, But missing you is heartache that never goes away We hold you tightly within our hearts, and there you will remain, Until the joyous day arrives that we all meet again Unknown Your girls xo

So sorry to hear about Anna she was a special lady I worked with her at the Best Western when I first moved out here. We had lots of laughs and we ate good food. The funniest memory was at Christmas I went over to see her and that Santa in her living room came on when I walked in scared the crap out of me she had to sit down on the couch she was laughing so hard. We had to have a drink after that. She always had a great heart. The last time I seen we had a good long talk. Rest in peace my beautiful friend

Your family is struggling mom, but we will be okay. You are so missed! Rest In Peace our angel!

My Condolences to the family

On behalf of my family and my entire Bailey family, we were so sorry to hear of your mum's passing. My family first met you all when we moved in across the street from you in early January of 1972 and my parents were celebrating their first anniversary mid January and your mum threw them an anniversary party after only knowing them for a few weeks. Your right, she would do anything for anyone... with heavy hearts we extend our sincere condolences to you all. I hope that all your loving memories will help you get through this very difficult time.

I’ll love you forever gram, and I’ll carry you always in my heart, thoughts, and my name that I couldn’t be happier you chose for me! Love Shane
