Charlotte Blakely

August 24th, 2020

Charlotte Catton Blakely, 90, of Bragg Creek, Alberta passed away Monday, August 24, 2020. She is survived by her loving family of four children; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brother.

Charlotte was born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 17, 1930. She moved to Saint Catherines, Ontario during grade school.  After high school, Charlotte studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Ontario, where she met Bill Blakely.  They were soon married and moved to Alberta where they had four children.  She spent many of her early years of marriage abroad that included Africa and Australia before settling in Bragg Creek for the latter part of her life.

She was a fabulous cook and loved to play cards. She was a lovely, gracious lady with a kind heart and was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

With the world being what it is right now, we are not able to have a formal gathering to celebrate her life. Please keep her in your thoughts.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Tom Baker Cancer Center in Calgary, Alberta. www.albertacancer.ca.

Messages:

Hello, Blakely family. I am Sherri Gallant (nee Totten), and just heard about Charlotte's passing. I just wanted to reach out and say I'm sorry for the loss of your lovely Mom. She was a gracious, beautiful woman. I would love to hear from Nancy, if you see this. Both my parents, Gladys and Gene, have passed now. Dad in 2001 and Mom in 2020. We are in Lethbridge now.
