ALLAN, Kenneth Charles

June 21, 1936 - Jan 14, 2019

Ken Allan, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at Foothills Hospital on January 14, 2019 at the age of 82. He will be remembered for his smiling face and big hugs, for his kindness, contentment, gentleness and for his sense of humor. Ken loved the Lord his God with all his heart, soul and strength and served Him with joy in his heart. We celebrate that Dad is with Jesus and that he is singing all the hymns he loved so much.....all four verses!!!!

Born in Flin Flon, Manitoba, Ken learned to love baseball, hockey, fishing and country music as a boy. At the age of 17, he moved to Calgary where he spent the rest of his life. He worked at the City of Calgary for 35 years where he never missed a day. He served faithfully at First Alliance Church as a choir member, usher and member of a men’s bible study group.

Ken met Evelyn Stuckle in Calgary and was married in 1956. He cherished her dearly for 62 years.  Even the day before his passing Ken told Evelyn, "You get more beautiful every day." Ken is survived by his wife, Evelyn, their three children; Arlene Grieve (Gordon), Randy Allan (Colleen) and Judy Schoblocher (Curtis), seven grandchildren; Nancy Durance (David), Nathan Grieve (Stacy), Ryan Grieve, Taylor Allan, Shane Allan, Megan Schoblocher and Matthew Schoblocher and four great grandsons; Jonathan, Joel, Benjamin and Caleb Durance; his younger sister, Dolores Brown and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Alliance Church, 12345 40 Street SE, Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, January 26, at 10:00 AM. In honor of Ken, donations can be made to “Teach Beyond”.

Ken has left us an eternal legacy. What a beautiful thing!

Messages:

Our sincere sympathies to Evelyn and family on the passing of Ken. We think back to the memories with your family at First Alliance Church as our daughter Sherrie had and has such a great friendship with Judy. What a great blessing. We pray for God's comfort and we know that one day there will be a glorious reunion when we will all be together, for we know that to be absent from the body is to present with the Lord. With our prayers to all the family! Garry & Emma Plano, Texas

My heartfelt sympathy to you Arlene, your Mum and all the rest of your lovely family. Ken has now returned to the God of his father, Bethlehem's babe and the Prophet's Messiah!! He's resting high on the mountain now as his work on earth is done! Praying for peace and comfort for all.
