Arthur B. Jefcoat

September 6th, 2018

With great sadness we announce the passing of Arthur B. Jefcoat on September 6, 2018 in Didsbury, AB with family at his side.

Arthur was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.

Arthur was born in Beaverlodge, AB on August 8, 1935.  As a child, he moved with his family to the Okanagan where he spent most of his years in Enderby, Salmon Arm and Lumby. He raised his family, farmed, and worked in the logging & trucking industry.  In 1987 he married Rosemarie Klemke. In 2006, Art and Rosemarie moved back to the Grande Prairie, Alberta area. He had a fond love of country music, playing the guitar, singing, going to country music festivals, horses, woodworking and over the years enjoyed many fishing & camping trips with family and friends.

Arthur's smile and wit will be dearly missed by his loving wife and best friend of the past 31 years, Rosemarie, his children Bev Gondor and Ken (Helen) Jefcoat, stepchildren David (Chris), Glen, Brenda, Gloria (John), son-in-law Ray, and siblings Wayne Jefcoat (Joanne) and Gwen Germaine, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and many special friends. Arthur was predeceased by his parent's Willis and Hazel, sisters Ruth, Donalda, Merilyn and Dolores, great-granddaughter Maisie, brother-in-laws Larry and Ron, and his faithful companion Benji.

At his request there will be no service. There will be a family internment of his ashes at Cliffside Cemetery in Enderby on October 6, 2018. The family sends sincere thanks and gratitude to his Doctors, the staff of Cross Cancer Institute, Peter Lougheed Hospital, and Tom Baker Cancer Centre for their support over the past year,  and especially the Didsbury Regional Hospital and the home care nurses for their excellent care and support in his final weeks.  In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice.
