Gary Edward Fisher

August 20th, 2018

After a four year struggle with Alzheimer’s, Gary E. Fisher passed away peacefully on Monday, August 20, 2018, with Judy by his side.

Gary is lovingly remembered by his loving wife Judy; four daughters, Melanie (Tuy), Jennifer (Tim), Jaime (Jeremy) and Amanda.  Gary has 10 grandchildren who affectionately called him “Grumpy”, Mackenzie, Brennan, Joe, Jack, Kaylee, Jalynn, Troy, Kayla, Jayna and Jesse.  Gary is also survived by his sister Linda (Dave) and brother Robert (Barb).  Gary was tragically pre-deceased by his son Jeremy and his daughter-in-law Maria.

Gary worked for 35 years as a delivery driver with Canada Post. He was an accomplished painter, loved to fish, golf and bowl.  Judy and Gary loved going to garage sales and picked up treasures from all over that they could sell with their friends at the flea markets. When Gary was younger, he played guitar and sang in a band.

Judy would like to recognize the awesome staff at the Evanston Grand Village, especially the nurses and health care aids, for their compassionate care of Gary the past four years.

In lieu of flowers, please say a prayer to Gary, and leave any stories at www.myalternatives.ca, and if you wish, make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Calgary, 800 – 7015 Macleod Tail SW,  Calgary, Alberta T2H 2K6 or at www.alzheimercalgary.ca.   As per Gary’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.

Messages:

When I saw this picture it reminded me of how much I miss hearing your laughter. I'm glad you are at peace now.

So sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Uncle Gary. The first uncle I thought was normal. Going to family reunions was always easier knowing you would be there. Made the greater family of characters so much more approachable with your chill attitude. Will not be the same with you not there.

I really miss you grandpa. You were so much fun.

Thinking of you

Going to miss you, Uncle Gary.

Going to miss Grandpa Gary.

Judy, our deepest condolences. I hope it brings peace to your heart knowing Gary doesn't have to suffer anymore. I hope to see you soon

So sorry for your loss, thoughts are with you and your family at this time.
